Go to Items.
Press the Custom Attributes button in the upper right corner.
Press the + Add New Attribute button in the upper right corner.
Under ATTRIBUTE CODE, you must enter kitchen_name or this setting will not work.
Under ATTRIBUTE NAME, enter the name you want to appear in the settings. “Kitchen Name” is the most commonly used.
Under CUSTOM ATTRIBUTE TYPE, select Product attribute / string.
Under FRONTEND INPUT TYPE, select Text.
Under UI COLUMN SIZE IN POS, leave the field blank or enter a value between 1 and 12. Use a higher number if the names being sent to the kitchen are very long.
Under SHOW ON QUICK UPDATE FORM, select Enabled if you want this field to appear in the quick update popup or Disabled if you do not want it to.
Press Save Changes.
Go to Items.
Locate the item you want to assign an alternative kitchen name for.
Press the edit icon to the right in the Action column.
In the field under Kitchen Name (or the name you chose for the attribute), enter the alternative name.
Scroll down and press Save.
