Create a Vendor Code Attribute

    Depending on how you manage your inventory, there may be a need to have two different SKU numbers; one that is unique to your business and one that is unique to your vendor. The easiest way to manage your inventory is to have both numbers associated with the same product. 

    1. Go to Items.

    2. Press the Custom Attributes button in the upper right corner.

    3. Press + Add New Attribute in the upper right corner.

    4. Under ATTRIBUTE CODE, you must enter vendor_code.

    5. Under ATTRIBUTE NAME, enter Vendor Code or Vendor SKU.

    6. Under CUSTOM ATTRIBUTE TYPE, choose Product attribute/number from the dropdown menu.

    7. Under FRONTEND INPUT TYPE, choose Text from the dropdown menu.

    8. Do not select anything under SHOW ON QUICK UPDATE FORM.

    9. Press Save Changes.
